The patterned CVD surface was exposed to a cascade of biomolecules. Because the surface is patterned, an internal reference (unpatterned area) is utilized. Biomolecular immobilization is indicated by a change in ellipsometric delta signal. Thin lines on the graphs indicate the reference signal while the thick lines indicate the signal from the patterned area.
