Numerical values for the parameters in (1) and (9) used in our simulations. In addition to the values shown, we use in the dimensionful equations D 1 = 0.32 mm2/day for lung cancer and D 1 = 0.46 mm2/day for melanoma, ρ = 0.35 day−1 for both melanoma and lung cancer (see Section 3.1), and a threshold for the detectability of tumor cells c th = 0.09 [22]. As explained in the main text we have D˜3=D˜4 and λ˜(C)=100λ˜(D). The effectiveness of chemotherapy and antiangiogenic therapy are parameterized by A˜(D)=1.65 and A˜(C)=0.1 for lung cancer, and by A˜(D)=3 and A˜(C)=0.3 for melanoma (see Section 3.1).
