Hypersensitivity of single-stranded DNA bound by RAD52 to hydroxyl radicals. 5′-32P-labelled oligo 1 (68n) was incubated in binding buffer in the absence (lane c) or presence (lane d) of RAD52 (40 nM) as described in Materials and methods. Reactions were supplemented with hydrogen peroxide and iron/EDTA and incubated for a further 10 min. 32P-labelled products were analysed by denaturing PAGE and detected by autoradiography.
