Sources: Perinatal mortality estimates were compiled from World Health Organization (WHO).^13,21,22 As data was not available for the occupied Palestinian territories, the data presented was compiled from: Kalter et al.²³ and the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern European.²⁴ Data for 2007 was accessed from WHO Regional Office for the Eastern European,²⁴ Jordan Department of Statistics, USAID, UNICEF, UNFPA DOS²⁵ and for Israeli data WHO Regional Office for Europe.²⁶ Preference where available was given to WHO data for greater comparability. Where necessary for graphical clarification, a mean of values over a time period were provided for a country.
