Dextromethorphan increases the survival rate of GAS-infected mice. Dextromethorphan (12.5 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally administrated to mice 30 min before and 1, 12, and 24 h after NZ131 inoculation (3 × 108 CFU) in the air pouch.
