(A) Intraperitoneal injection of sodium nitrite decreased the I/M ratio by 60% ± 9% compared with controls (n = 6/group; *P < 0.01). Nebulized sodium nitrite decreased IH by 77% ± 7% compared with controls (n = 8/group).
