Experiment 3 – Pointing task. (A) Before and after each stroking session participants were asked to point toward the tip of their left thumb with their right index finger. A sensor (right index finger) was used to measure the pointing movement and a second sensor (left elbow) was used to monitor the participant's position in space during the experiment. Cameras were occluded during each pointing movement to exclude reliance on visual information. (B) Proprioceptive drift for the IH and TH condition as measured by the difference in pointing before vs. after the induction of the illusion (paired samples t-test – p < 0.001).
