Data in panel B was recorded several hours later, when the preparation had suffered a substantial loss of auditory sensitivity. Panels C and D show the same data as in A and B at an expanded scale. The CF was 19 kHz and the stimulus level 104 dB SPL. Responses are averages of 100 stimulus presentations.
