Increase in NO concentration in HCAECs under regular Ca2+ and Ca2+-deprived conditions, treated with either catechin (CAT), quercetin (QUER), or EPI (1 μmol/l). In regular Ca2+ conditions EPI induced an increase of approximately fourfold in NO vs. catechin, and twofold vs. quercetin. Whereas in Ca2+-free conditions, EPI is able to induce more than threefold increase NO production vs. quercetin, while catechin induced no effect.
