The numbers of parasitized AA and CB RBCs adhering to 100 MVECs in the presence of either non-immune or immune IgG are shown. Comparisons were made in parallel using IgG at final concentrations of either 10 mg/mL (a) or 0.5–6 mg/mL (b). Median values are indicated by horizontal bars. Results were obtained from 2 parasite lines (3D7, FCR-3), multiple blood donors (6AA, 6CB), and 4 endothelial cell lots. For each combination of parasite line and RBC sample tested, the numbers of parasitized RBCs bound to 100 MVECs are shown in Table S2.
