Strain HME6 has point mutation (galKTYR145UAG), and HME31 has cat-sacB insertion.
The relevant part of the oligo sequences is shown in Fig. 1. The mismatch pair (in parentheses) is created by annealing the oligo at galKTYR145UAG.
Results are presented as an average from several independent experiments (number in parentheses). The standard deviation from the mean was ≈50%.
