Table 1. C6-ceramide enhances TSA-induced cancer cell death.
Cell death after indicated treatments (versus control) |
IC50 of TSA |

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cell lines | TSA (100 ng/ml) (%) | C6 (10 μg/ml) (%) | TSA+C6 (%) | Without C6 (in ng/ml) | With C6 (10 μg/ml) |
CaOV3 | 8.4±3.5 | 12.9±5.1 | 68.3±7.5 | 414.3 | 51.2 ng/ml |
L3.6 | 23.8±1.1 | 10.9±3.4 | 70.1±1.4 | 314.2 | 57.8 ng/ml |
SKOV3 | 22.5±2.8 | 14.2±1.5 | 63.2±2.2 | 354.2 | 63.7 ng/ml |
WM-115 | 23.5±3.7 | 12.9±3.0 | 61.3±6.2 | 387.9 | 59.9 ng/ml |
Cancer cell lines CaOV3, L3.6, SKOV3 and WM-115 were treated with TSA (100 ng/ml) with or without C6-ceramide (10 μg/ml), cell viability was detected by MTT assay as shown in Figure 1, percentage of cancer cell death was calculated by reduced MTT value after treatment divided by to control MTT value. IC50 values were calculated using SPSS statistics 17.0 software (Chicago, IL, USA).
