ATP binding confers resistance of Hbr1p-His6 to proteolysis by trypsin. Gel electrophoresis was used to monitor levels of intact Hbr1p-His6 after 1 h of trypsin incubation at 20:1 Hbr1p-His6:trypsin molar ratio. Hbr1p-His6 WT and mutants with and without preincubation with 20 mm ATP (A) or 20 mm of the indicated nucleotides (B). Migration of molecular mass markers is indicated (kDa).
