Recombinant FH5 FH2 and FH5 FH1FH2 Cap Actin Microfilaments.

(A) Kinetics of elongation of the barbed-end of actin filaments in the presence of FH5 FH2. Preformed actin filament seeds (0.8 μM) were incubated with various concentrations of FH5 FH2 (from top to bottom: 0, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 nM) before addition of 1.0 μM pyrene-actin monomers. a.u., arbitrary units.

(B) Variation in the initial rate of elongation as a function of FH5 FH2 or FH5 FH1FH2 concentration. The representative Kd is 19.1 nM for FH5 FH1FH2 and 2.9 nM for FH5 FH2.
