Differential incorporation of serine or leucine at the CUG position 197 of SerRS alters the thermal stability. Comparison of the thermal denaturation profiles of SerRS_Ser197 and SerRS_Leu197 shows that the incorporation of Leu into both monomers of SerRS induces a decrease in thermal stability.
