Detection of oncostatin M (OSM) in neoplastic mast cells in the bone marrow of patients with systemic mastocytosis. A–D: Serial sections prepared from paraffin-embedded bone marrow of a patient with systemic mastocytosis were stained with anti-tryptase antibody (A and C) or anti-OSM antibody (B and D) as described under Materials and Methods. Typical spindle-shaped neoplastic mast cells (arrows) and endothelial cells were found to express OSM. Arrowheads indicate the same bone trabecule in two adjacent sections (A and B; C and D).
