The magnitude $\left(\sqrt{B_{1S}{B}_{1S}^{*}}\right)$ provides the maximum value of B_1S allowing for the observation of the standing wave patterns present in the input and the horizontal direction of the sample, as well as the interference fringes from the RF coil in the vertical direction of the sample.
