Normalized magnitude of B1S, the transverse component of the microwave magnetic field, for the (a) vertical cross section of the probe, (b) the horizontal cross section of the probe and (c) the rotor and sample cross section. The magnitude (B1SB1S*) provides the maximum value of B1S allowing for the observation of the standing wave patterns present in the input and the horizontal direction of the sample, as well as the interference fringes from the RF coil in the vertical direction of the sample.
