Serum insulin levels after oral glucose administration in Ipomoea batatas-treated diabetic (Caiapo), Agaricus blazei-treated diabetic (Agarics) or Smallanthus sonchifolius-treated diabetic (Yacon) rats. The levels were determined 20 min after oral administration of 20% glucose solution by radioimmunoassay. Treatment with Caiapo for 2 months restored to serum insulin level comparable to that of normal control.
