Overnight fasted and normal fed mice performed a single bout of exercise and were killed immediately, 2 h or 5 h after exercise. In addition, fasted and normal fed mice that did not exercise served as control groups. Immediately after the mice were killed, blood glucose (A), and serum CXCL-1 and IL-6 were measured (C and D), liver CXCL-1 and IL-6 mRNA expressions (B, E and F) were determined, as were muscle CXCL-1 (G) and IL-6 (H) mRNA expressions. The relative mRNA expression is depicted as fold changes proportional to the control expression level. Data are presented as means ±s.e.m. (n = 8).
