Anti-apoptotic mechanisms of Akt. Akt has been described to inhibit apoptosis at multiple levels: signaling pathways, transcription factors, and, in the intrinsic pathway of PCD, at pre-mitochondrial, mitochondrial, and post-mitochondrial levels.
