The anti-contaminator is cooled by a liquid nitrogen dewar, which is mounted on the top of the microscope chamber. A copper rod attached to the dewar bottom is bent to fit the chamber and extends to about 1.27 cm away from the anti-contaminator. The tail of the copper rod is connected to the ACD by a 5 cm long, 1.27 cm wide copper braid (not shown in the figure). (a) The side view of the chamber with cooling path.
