Proteolytic processing of wt SARS-S and SARS-S mutant T760R in the presence and absence of furin overexpression.The indicated S-proteins were transiently expressed in 293T cells in the absence and presence of furin (expression plasmids for SARS-S and furin were transfected at a 1:1 ratio), the cells treated with PBS or trypsin as indicated and cell lysates analyzed with S2-specific antiserum. As control, ß-actin expression in cell lysates was assessed. The results of a single gel are shown from which irrelevant lanes were removed.
