Mice (N = 5) were treated with silica (10–500 mg/kg/day) for 5 days by oral gavage. On day 3, mice were sensitized with 5 × 108 sRBC per mouse i.p. Four days after sensitization, the number of anti-sRBC IgM AFC was determined from SPLC by plaque assay. * p < 0.05 as compared to VH (VH, vehicle, water). S = silica.
