Total ion chromatograms (A and B, black traces) and mass spectra (C and D) of the 7KCh metabolites (after methylation and trimethylsilylation) formed in the enzyme assay (5 min at 37°C) with 0.2 nmol of purified recombinant CYP27A1 and 2 nmol of 7KCh. The products were isolated by HPLC, and each was analyzed individually by GC-MS. Red traces show the negative control, in which CYP27A1 was boiled prior to initiation of the enzyme reaction.
