P-CP, C-CP, and TP were isolated as described previously, and chlorophyll and total protein were determined as described in “Materials and Methods.” Particles in diluted aliquots of each preparation were counted in a hematocytometer to allow calculation of chlorophyll and protein per chloroplast or cell. Values are averages of four independent experiments ± se.
