Data and fits as a function of presentation rate. The five panels on the left plot the proportion of trials in which flicker was reported as a function of presentation rate and stimulus speed. The data were averaged across observers for each protocol. The lines are the 0.5 points in the best-fitting vertical cumulative Gaussians. The right-most panel summarizes the data from the other five panels. It plots the presentation rate that just produced visible flicker for each protocol averaged across observers. Different colors represent different protocols: red is Csim/Psim1X, dark blue is Calt/Palt1X, cyan is Csim/Palt1X, green is Csim/Palt2X, and purple is Csim/Palt3X. Error bars represent standard deviations.
