Human MPCs engraft poorly in rat ischemic myocardium. Human-specific RPL32 expression (384 bp) in DNA extracts from known numbers of MPCs, untreated control rat heart (ht) and human MPC treated MI hearts harvested at 24 hrs (N= 2) and 7 days (N= 2) following intramyocardial injection, was determined by PCR. Rat-specific RPL32 was used as loading control.
