Phenotypic trait values of crossbred and sib-crossed Steinernema carpocapsae lines. Results of crossbreeding two sib-cross lines (4 and 5) with each other and assaying the resulting progeny for five phenotypes: in vitro reproductive capacity (# of progeny), in vivo reproductive capacity (# of progeny / (2 × 102)), heat tolerance (% surviving nematodes), virulence (% Galleria mellonella larvae killed) and 'tail standing' (% 'tail standing' nematodes). For the y-axes, in vitro and in vivo reproductive capacity is reported on the left Y-axis, and heat tolerance, virulence, and `tail standing' are reported on the right Y-axis. Letters over each bar indicate statistically significant differences from the traits of other assessed lines within a given assay (significant differences of traits between other assays were not determined) at α = 0.05. Error bars indicate 1 S.D. from the average of the assayed line for a given trait.
