Use-dependent inhibition of NaV1.1 splice variants. Use-dependent inhibition of NaV1.1-5A (closed symbols) and NaV1.1-5N (open symbols) were assessed in the absence (A) or presence of 10 μM phenytoin (B) or 10 μM lamotrigine (C). Currents were elicited by a pulse to 0 mV from a holding potential of −90 mV at frequencies ranging from 10 to 135 Hz. Peak current at the 300th pulse was normalized to that of the 1st pulse. An asterisk indicates p < 0.05. All points represent mean ± SEM for 9 - 16 experiments.
