Receiver-operating-characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the cutoff points that yielded the highest combined sensitivity and specificity. The ratio of miRNA copies to RNU44 copies were used to perform the ROC curve analysis. Analysis involving RNU44 small nucleolar RNA was performed using copies per one microgram total RNA.
