Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mediates the gut injurious effects of HIF-1α. A: WT and HIF-1α^+/− mice were subjected to SMAO or sham for 45 min and 3 h of reperfusion. Whole cell extracts prepared from mucosal scrapings from the distal ileum were examined for iNOS expression by Western blot analysis.
