I = Introvert; E = Extravert
Mutual Reinforcement of dispositions, e.g., paired introverts both reported as homebodies and paired extraverts both reported as outgoing. For matched introverts, mutual sounder roles violated the expected dispositional role (sounding board) of introverts.
Complementary Reinforcement of dispositions, e.g., in mixed dyads, introverts reported as judges and extraverts as buddies. For matched introverts, complementary anchor-propeller roles violated the expected dispositional role (anchor) of introverts.
Dispositional Accommodation from matched to mixed personality dyads, e.g., introverts reported as hobbiests with another introvert but as dramatizers with an extravert.
Paired introverts took similar roles, but about half of the dyads were both spouts, and about half were both containers. In mixed dyads, about half of the introverts were spouts and about half were containers.
