Effect of TSC on the BVDV IRES. MDBK cells were cotransfected with an in vitro synthesized BVDV IRES-Fluc and Rluc RNAs and treated with 10 μM and 50 μM TSC. Untreated transfected cells were included as controls. The luciferase activity was determined at 4 h posttransfection, and the IRES activity was monitored as a Fluc/Rluc ratio (RLU) to normalize for transfection efficiency.
