Activity of Cav-1 on gene expression in a stable cell line expressing GFP under the control of the HIV LTR. (A and B) Stable HeLa cell lines expressing GFP under the control of the HIV LTR (HeLa-TatIII/LTR/d1EGFP) or CMV promoter (HeLa-TatIII/CMV/d1EGFP) were infected with adenovirus vector containing Cav-1 (Ad-Cav-1) or LacZ (Ad-LacZ). Infected cells were harvested at days 2 and 3 postinfection and subjected to flow cytometry analysis for GFP fluorescence intensity. Experiments were performed independently three times, and results are expressed as means ± SD. (C) The level of adenovirus vector-delivered Cav-1 expression was determined by Western blot analysis.
