Distribution of TrkA by immunofluorescence. TrkA is detected within vesicular structures in the cell body (asterisks), along the neurites and in the neurite termini (arrowheads) in PC12 cells stably overexpressing TrkA. PC12 (615) cells were treated with 50 ng/ml NGF overnight to stimulate differentiation and outgrowth of neurites. Cells were fixed in methanol, labeled with polyclonal anti-TrkA (C-14; recognizes both TrkA and p-TrkA), and examined by confocal microscopy. Bar, 10 μm.
