Intra-operative recovery can be carried out in cancer surgery for malignant neoplasia provided the subsequent reinfusion of the intra-operative recovered red cell concentrates occurs through leucodepletion filters and after irradiation (25 Gy) of the product to be reinfused6,27,154,236257.
