Improved cognitive performance in the water maze behavioral test in mice with genetically reduced CDK5 levels. (a and b) Nine-month old wild-type control mice (non-tg), CDK5 heterozygous deficient (CDK5^+/−), APP tg mice, or crosses (CDK5^+/−/APP tg) were trained in the water maze, beginning with a 3-day exposure to the visible platform.
