10⁶/ml PBMC from non pregnant (light bars) or pregnant women (black bars) (n = 10) were treated with 50 µg/ml pSTBM for 20 hours at 37°C. Supernatants were harvested and cytokine production assessed by ELISA for TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, IL-1α, MIP-1α and IL-1β (pg/ml). Values calculated as the mean of value from cells treated with 50 ug/ml pSTBM minus background cytokine production.
