Comparison of the tBHP-supported metabolism of benzphetamine by CYP2B4 WT and variants. CYP2B4 WT and its variants were incubated with DLPC, potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, and excess benzphetamine as described under “Experimental Procedures”. The reactions were initiated by the addition of a 0.1 M final concentration of tBHP and the rate of formaldehyde formation was assessed spectrometrically after reaction with Nash’s reagent. The data are an average of two experiments with the error bars representing standard error mean.
