Ibulocydine induces apoptosis in HCC cells. A, HCC cells were cultured with ibulocydine or BMK-Y101 for the indicated times. Cells were then processed for Western blotting. Native PARP was cleaved into a typical apoptotic fragment of 85 kDa in HCC cells treated with ibulocydine or BMK-Y101. Actin was used as the loading control. B, HCC SNU-354 cells were treated with ibulocydine or BMK-Y101 with the indicated doses for 24 h and caspase-3 activity was measured by determining the cleavage of the specific peptide substrate DEVD-AMC.
