D, HeLa cells were transfected with EGFP-PBIP1, EGFP-CENP-Q, or their respective leucine zipper/coiled-coil mutants, and then immunostained. Note that cells expressing a high level of EGFP-PBIP1(L337P L344P) frequently exhibited a low level of centrosome-localized fluorescence. Anti-CREST signals serve as centromere markers.
