Roles of Arp6 in the local alteration of chromatin structure and the spatial organization of the nucleus. Arp6 has an essential function in chromatin remodeling through the deposition of H2A.Z by the SWR1 complex (lower chromatin). In addition, Arp6 has a role in the spatial arrangement of chromatin through its interaction with the myosin-like proteins Mlp1 and Mlp2 (upper chromatin). This function of Arp6 is independent of the SWR1 complex.
