Each theoretical line (right) is at a different fixed sample separation ratio τ = [0.5, 0.8, 0.9, 0.95, 0.99], respectively. From the family of lines, the rapid decrease in statistical significance probability with increasing sample size n is apparent. This effect is stronger the closer τ is to unity.
