A) The BMI of animals in the HCD group were significantly higher than the control and HCD-R animals (*P< 0.001). B) Total cholesterol in the HCD group was significantly increased as compared to the control and HCD-R groups (*P<0.001). Though total cholesterol in the HCD-R group was about 30% lower than the HCD group it was still significantly increased when compared to the control group (†P<0.05). C) LDL was significantly increased in the HCD group as compared to the control and HCD-R groups (*P<0.001 and †P<0.05). D) The ratio of LDL:HDL demonstrated a significant increase in the HCD-R group (‡P=0.01). E) Blood glucose levels were significantly increased 30 minutes after dextrose infusion (§P=0.002).
