WT and CXCR2 KO mice received intranasal immunizations once a week for four weeks with 100 µg of H. pylori sonicate plus 5 µg of cholera toxin and received an orogastic challenge of 1–2 × 107 cfu H. pylori on days 7 and 8 following this treatment. U/C mice were also infected at that time. Gastric biopsies were harvested from all mice two weeks post-challenge and evaluated for gastritis (A), H. pylori load (B) and gastric neutrophil numbers (C). n = 5 – 8 mice/group.
