Surviving cone terminals in the CNGB3−/− retina show normal characteristics. Retinas from WT and CNGB3−/− mice at 1 and 12 months of age triple labeled for WGA (green, AD), complexin III (CPX III, red, EH), and CtBP2 (blue, IL) to visualize photoreceptor terminal distribution, cone terminals, and synaptic ribbons, respectively. The absence of CNGB3 does not disrupt OPL organization, cone terminals (arrowheads), or the synaptic ribbons in rod and cone terminals.
