Bal-31 digestion blot analysis of telomere repeats. Encephalitozoon cuniculi total genomic DNA was digested by Bal-31 nuclease for 0, 2.5, 5, 6, 7.5, 8.5 min (lanes 1–6, respectively) and subsequently digested with BssHII. This was followed by size-fractionation on agarose gel electrophoresis and Southern blotting onto a nylon membrane. The blot was then hybridized with ³²P-labeled telomere repeat oligonucleotides as probes and autoradiographed for 5 h.
