Pressure ejection of dopamine into the slice as detected with an adjacent voltammetric electrode. The tip of the pipette was secured at a 70 µm distance from the working electrode. First, dopamine was ejected from a pipette into the cortex. The entire assembly was then raised and lowered into the caudate nucleus and the ejection repeated. Dopamine was only observed in the caudate nucleus after the slice had been perfused with 10 µM nomifensine, a dopamine uptake blocker. Reprinted with permission from181. Copyright 1989 Elsevier.
