Flavin redox switches. Various input signals can deliver a redox change to the flavin cofactor that results in the activation of a protein function. Examples of regulated output functions include the binding of a target/effector protein in a cell signaling cascade, membrane binding and intracellular localization, and transcriptional regulation.
