PDBu-induced MLC₂₀-P and contractions of uterine arteries of pregnant sheep at high altitude. Uterine arteries from pregnant ewes acclimatized to high altitude hypoxia were stimulated with 10 μmol/L PDBu in the absence or presence of PD098059 (30 μmol/L, pretreatment for 20 min). Contractile tension and MLC₂₀-P were measured simultaneously in the same tissues at indicated time points. Representative immunoblot (top) shows unphosphorylated MLC₂₀ and MLC₂₀-P induced by 10 μmol/L PDBu in the uterine artery rings isolated from pregnant sheep.
